A 2014 report by the National Health Council states approximately 133 million people in the United States have ongoing, chronic diseases; with that number projected to grow to 157 million by 2020.  Almost one-third of Americans are currently living with three (3) or more chronic conditions.

Do you remember learning the "Skeleton Dance" about the bones of the body -- "the foot bone is connected to the ... leg bone, and the leg bone is connected to the ... knee bone" and so on?  It turns out a lot of today's chronic illnesses are connected to the gut.  Everything from anxiety/depression to thyroid issues to arthritis, even allergies and asthma. They are ALL connected to the health of your gut.  Your gut health is connected to your lifestyle -- long term psychological and physical stress,  poor sleep, diets of refined sugar and processed foods, lack of exercise and environmental toxins, which can have a negative impact on your overall health.  I guess we could call this the "Dis-ease Dance" -- "the arthritis is connected to your ... gut health, and the (insert your illness here) is connected to your ...... gut health."
